Rohtang Pass - May

I was wanting to know when the Rohtang pass will be open this year? Does anyone know?

Possibility is that you can enjoy in MAY but LEH road may not open by that time. YOu can reach ROHTANG and have fun.

BRO says that they are going to open the manali-leh highway by mid-may but initially the traffic wud be restricted to military convoys.your best bet wud be to go at the end of may.

so looks like May end or June is my best bet to be able to visit the Rohtang pass.

recent report is ,the pass wud be opned around may 20th.the news was there in The tribune.

Yesterday there was a short news clip of the road cleaning process was shown in DD news at morning. Removal of snow is going on beyond Beas Nalla. Cleaning was going on near the snow covered tunnel like point ( I forgot the name ) . As per the discussion it will be open at middle of May.

1st week of June is great unless ur prepared to handle sudden changes in ur itenary! Since ur from canada I'm guessing ur'nt gonna be here just to catch some snow at Rohtang!

hi Guys,
We are comming to Manali on 12th and intend to stay until 16th.

I see postings here that Rohtang pass wont be open until end May. does this mean we cant reach this place or does it imply crossing over to reach Leh wont be possible, but we can see the snow point ( read on some website) at Rohtang.

My plan was day1: see the places near manali : hidamba devi temple, manu temple, vasisht village, club house

day2: Shollang valley for skiing, tubing, parasailing etc

day3: rohtang pass

day4: im leaving that day so some more places nearby.

Can i cover shollang valley and rohtang on same day and visit Manekiran on one of the days ?

How much would adventure sports at Shollang cost approx?

Do let me know ur inputs,

Fingers crossed, planning to cross Kunzum and Rohtang en route from Kaza to Manali in May-end. Hear the snow is melting faster this year......
Anyone know how much extra time it will take to make a short visit to Chander Tal on the way?

rishabh is right...tribune says so and so many hearts are beating for it's opening.
BAD NEWS: Work was stopped tody due to bad weather. Rohtang again got snow today !
