Wink Yes

The Rampur to Kullu road is OK... washed out at places.... but roadable. Qualis should do fine.

Jalori Pass is only 10,000 [approx] feet altitude .... sure, it will snow... but the road does not close down unless there is a fierce spell... and then the PWD does clear up the snow in a day or two..

did the narkanda-jalori-banjar-aut road on the 5th of nov. the last 5-6km to jalori is in bad shape.. normal loaded sedan cars will scrape the belly easily! the pass was clear, no snow at all..

Hi

The road is open .. usually does around 2nd week march every year and closes mid december .. depending on the snow .. good road .. except the last 5-6 kms to the pass either from Shoja or Khanag ...

The rampur - Luhri - Ani - Khanag - Jalori pass stretch is good .. but I see have people tried out the other alternative .. maybe a lil long but very very interesting and beautiful

Rampur - Nirmund - Baghipul (Hike to Kullu Sarahan and stay at rest house) the road is a jeep track which goes up toi kullu sarahan .. but just short at 1.5 kms (24kms)

Kullu sarahan - Baghipul - Nither - Dalash - Chowai - Shamshar - Khanag - jalori Pass - Shoja.

Shoja - Jibhi - Bahu - Gadah Gushaini - Khauli - Jhanjehli

Jhanjehli - Kanda - pandoh .... or

Jhanjehli - Shikari Devi - Chindi - Tattapani - Shimla

Its a great option best suited for a motorbikes and jeeps and lots of interesting and offbeat places to be seen ...

Cheers,
Dhananjay

What is the altitude difference between Baghipul and Kullu Sarahan?

22.5 KM between Baghipul & Kullu Sarahan is jeepable and the rest 1.5 Km has to be done on foot - am I right with the facts?

A little description of the place - do also give. I might motorcycle that route.

Hi

Hi,

The dstance from RAMPUR - NIRMUND - BAGHIPUL is 24 kms. From Baghipul there is a jeep track which goes up towards Kullu Sarahan. OF the total 8kms 6 kms is jeepable and the last two kms entail a short hike. Maybe that should also be complete sometime in the coming months.

Kullu sarahan is a large meadow with streams flowing gently in between the valley floor, surrounded by the srikhand range below the bashleo pass. Very beautiful indeed.

Cheers

Dhananjay, When did you go there last .... coz there is no stream flowing in that meadow . There used to be a lil brook that meanders thru that but its been dry for ages now !! Lets not give people a wroing impression .. PLS ...

Otherwise it is exactly what Dhananjay says it to be .... !!

Hi

Hi,

Khaadu Bhai ... The pics are great ... I went there last October .. October 8th-9th .. Post monsoon .. so you can guess .. the stream flows ... But yes .. We are going there pretty soon again for a recce .. last year we took our jeeps all the way up from Baghipul but had to cut short by 2kms ... And the road at Baghipul is still the same, however a lil better now ... But Anyways ... Its one of the most beautiful places in Himachal Pradesh and fortunately minimum impact from the rigors of mass tourism ...

Cheers
Dhananjay
