Planning a trip to HP

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and find it very helpful reading everyone's posts. I am planning a trip to India in December and would love to go to a hill station(s). I will be in patankot and would prefer to leave or end up there.
If anyone has any suggestions on where I should go I would appreciate it?
By the way I am not looking for too highly of a visited place.


Has anyone been to palumpur, if so fill me in on what it was like?

Pathankot...try the Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow guage railway (Kangra Valley Railway)...it leads to the hills...McLeodganj, Dharamsala, Kangra Valley etc.
Palampur is in Kangra Valley and is a nice place with lot of tea gardens...btw it can be accessed by The Kangra Valley Railway. Worth a visit.

From Pathankot you should visit Chamba, Bharmour, Khajjiar and Dalhousie. Then move onto Dharamsala, Palampur, Baijnath and Jogindernagar. Return to Pathankot by the Kangra Valley railway.
