Question Need Pics/Details on Hamta Huts/Hadimba Cottages - Manali

Hello

I'd like to have some pictures and/or details about both Hamta Huts and Hadimba Cottages.

Before someone does point me towards the older posts, I must mention that I scanned them all but could not get any first hand reviews/pics from IMers who might have stayed there.

If someone can post the pics of both Hamta Huts & Hadimba Cottage or can tell me the difference between the two.

I'm travelling to manali from 18th-22nd July and have booked Hut for 1 day and cottage for a couple of days. Information/reviews that I got on IM were enough to convince me for the booking however I'm yet to see any pics from inside/outside.

Cooperation much appreciated.

Can't offer you much detail but only share with you that one of my friends is a regular visitor (with family) to Manali every year and he stays at Log huts every time. So this must be a good proposition.

Thanks Wanderer.

The thing is the entire area is called 'Log Huts Area' though there are 'Log Huts' run by HPTDC (in the same area) which are actually different from Hamta/Hadimba.

Appreciate the effort though. Thanks for scribbling in.

Hi Hemant,
In continuation with our discussion at IM/mail, i will share this: I went directly to the HPTDC offc, The Hamta & Log Huts cottages are in the same campus, Hamta are 1 room cottages while Log Huts are 2 room cottages. Again, there are 3 price ranges for Log Huts, 5000 (3 premium cottages), 4500 (8 cottages) and 4000. Off season discount is 30%. Hadimba cottages are located in a different area, near the hadimba temple. Even i am looking for photos online, though the HPTDC guy showed me some nice pics of the cottages in their offc computer. However, if you visit in July, it wud a great help 4 me as i will go in Oct

Log huts # 1,2, & 3(@ 5000/-) are the best property in Manali and offer you real value for money. They offer a fantastic view. Orchard huts (@4000/-) though priced slightly lower compare nowhere near the above loghuts. If possible, go for the log huts instead of Hamta or Hadimba cottages.

Thanks Balvar

No, I did not mean Log Huts. They were too big and too expensive for just one couple so I did not opt for them.

I rather chose hadimba Cottage which is also HPTDC property and is different from Log Huts/Orchard Huts as you rightly pointed out.

I got some pics and some first-hand information from a couple of visitors.

Seems like a good choice and worth the money/effort.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the advice buddy. I did check out Log Huts but frankly 5k/night for a family sounds good but for two people it seemed atrocious to me. Not that am on a shoe-string budget but I'd rather use that money in wine . Have booked Hadimba Cottages. Hope it comes out well. Thanks again
