permanent camp at Chandratal Lake ????

I shall be visiting Chandratal Lake in first week of sep. Heard some one has put up a permanent camp at Chandratal Lake. Is it possible to reach right up to the chandratal lake campsite on a bike? Plz inform me about the cost and facilities available at the camp.

As per my knowledge there is no permanent camp there, one can reach the up to Chandratal Lake on a motorcycle, couple of friends from BCM Touring did it couple of months back. http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153

yup, but it is in a real bad shape especially the last 2kms

anyone who has reached right upto chandratal lake? i am planning to do this route so plz advise

It is better and lot cheaper to make arrangements at Manali.
Camping equipment can be hired.
Fooding should not be problem as a Dhaba is function there during season.
I can give the number of a guy in Manali who arranges camping stuff/guides for Chandratal.

I have spoken to few taxi drivers there, there say that road becomes motorable (for Innova) by Min-July till about 1 km from the lake. Unfortunately looks like I will not able to make it in Mid-june with my kids.

This time I would visit Chandrataal on my way to Kaza from Manali and stay at Chandrataal would be for just 1 night. Probably the camping equipments would be required only for 1 night as the accommodations for the rest of the trip is already booked.

Also please let me know how feasible is it to drive from Kaza to Keylong in 1 day...please give an approximate time if possible.
