i am not against any trekking agency. but the feel of trekking is entirely different when we go solo or with small group of like minded people. otherwise agency arranged treks are again mini cyberhub or SEZ office boardrooms... and we carry the same corporate luggage throughout the trek!!!!

What about the days necessary for acclimatisation?. I would read up about it if you are going above 3,00 metres never mind 6,000.

I actually went with 2 more people. The feeling was awesome. total of 6(3 of us and 3 guide+porter) in the huge valley area. So far none of the big trekking companies used to organised a trek to Kanamo. I guess Kanamo won't be that special once it becomes mainstream.
However, I had to go through lots of hoops to get trekking partners for kanamo as I was a solo trekker and arranging logistics for a solo person gets very tough. For such scenarios, trekking groups are good.

I went to kanamo just 4 days after summiting Rupin(15350 ft) so acclimatization wasn't an issue. Even my other two friends who were driving from chandigarh didn't face any AMS issue. However we took everything slowly, didn't rush in and kept drinking lots of water

My plans have changed. I want to try this around July 10th.

If anyone is interested, please post here or PM me.

Itinerary would be something like this:
Note:Kibber is already above 4000m and you need to be well acclimatized before you leave for base camp.
Day1--around July10th: Kibber(~4300m) to Base Camp(~4900m)
Day2: Advanced Base Camp(~5400m)
Day3: Summit(~6000m) and back to camp.
Day4: Trek to Kibber and drive to Kaza.

Can shorten by one day depending on fitness and acclimatization levels.

As i can see, your dates are coinciding with mine, so if you want we can discuss and plan ahead.

Yes, definitely. I am solo. How about you? We can exchange contact details via PM but you need to have 10 posts before you get that facility.

The last couple posts seem to have vanished. I don't have fb. So we have to wait until you have 10 posts to exchange contact details. Have you contacted any guides? I contacted Norling guest house but didn't get a reply via phone/email.

There is a mountain called Mount Yunam, A better option to stok kangri and kanamo. It is also above 6000m and easy trekking peak near Baralacha la in lahaul. I am planning to summit it solo, if anyone is interested let me know. The views wil be stunning!!

sarthakohri has informed me that the Mt Yunam plans are canceled as of now. My Kanamo trip report is in the trekking and mountaineering subforum.
