Do you have any contact no. for Cafe Green Peace ? I will be going to Manali (on my way to Leh) with my wife during Mid - August. Would love to do Paragliding. But I doubt we can do the same during August.

Cafe Green peace is on the Naggar-Manali road near to Heritage Kulu shawl industry.

The contact person is Vinay - 09816162737.

Its recommended that you reach cafe green peace around 8.30 in the morning. Just give him a call and know about the climate and the possibilities before going. It hardly takes an hour or two for the complete process. First, from the cafe green peace they take you in a jeep ride up the hill for 7kms, then from there we have to trek for another 2kms up hill to reach the takeoff point. You may glide for around 10 to 15mins depending on the wind you catch. We paid Rs1500/person.

Ideal conditions for doing para gliding is, there should not be any clouds / rain at all, sufficient amount of flowing wind, better to do in the morning.

I took them while flying, (Except the first one in which i am standing wearing the suite and my pilot Mike took the snap). In the last snap you could see my wife sitting next to the chute in which she glided and her pilot wrapping it.

It is easy handling a digi cam while gliding since your pilot will be controlling the parachute. Even i took the landing scene of myself as a video.

Kartik, that sounds cool! But the price of the activity is not. Maybe one of these days we will head there and make an exception.
