i think around Mid June would be a good time to Visit Lahul Valley. Regarding Neelkanth in Mid June you woudl need carry your own Food & Ford Sevral Nullahs enroute.
Otheerwise mid June is the best time for Lahul Valley

Dear Rishi,

You are spot on there is motorable road right upto Nainghar Village. Although the Maps Available on web & Trek Details Suggets that there is road only upto to Chokhang Village. but the road is a newly developed one & semi Mettaled. Yeah if u reach kyelong on sunday , u can start the trek on Monday, No hassles wat so ever. But i9 think its better to camp in Nainghar on Sunday Night, & start the trek early nexy Day. From nainghar i dont know the Excact Km's for Neelkanth Peak or Lake, but its must be around 12 Kms form Nainghar. There is no steep ascent in the Whole trek upto Neelkanth. Except for about 2 Kms before the Lake. From Nainghar u walk upto alias,(midway of trek). you are most likely to come across a Gaddi(Sheperd) in alias. Then u make a turn right Towards the Valley. the trek is not very well marked but can still be done without a guide,IDeally the trek can be completed in two Days. Start from Nainghar, Camp along the lake for the Night & came back tomorrow. One more thing Girls are not allowed for this trek.

Jai Trilokinath and Congrats to You, Rishi. I was also in Himachal (Valley of Gods, Manali-Kullu) for more than a month.

Since you mentioned Trilokinath, it is a pilgrimage for both Hindu and Budhdhists. If I may add, "Pori mela" of Trilokinath held in the month of August is famous. Saat Dhara (seven rivers for which you trek few kilometers) is another attraction, as well as a lake near Trilokinath. Himachal is full of beauty and wonders.

Info

Hay friend you wrote about " as well as a lake near Trilokinath" well i would be interesred to know the location of it where in Triloknath is it.
Also Saath Dhara is not where 7 rivers originates its just the 7 streams that are coming out from the deep inside the mounatins and it is here the origin of Triloknath is said.

Saath Dhara is about 2 & half Hours hike form Trilokinath, the Local myth about about saath Dhara is that its water remains white, even in rainy seasons Also. I have also heard of lake also confirmed from some locals, its said to be further up from saath dhara, although the exact location of the same is not clear

Yes, you people are absolutely right Saat Dhara is seven streams, not seven rivers. I'd been to Saat Dhara years ago but not to the lake, which as Balvar says is further up from Saat Dhara.
