Question Need your advice on visiting Manali / Rohtang in November

Hi Guys,

I wish to visit Manali / Rohtang Pass in the first week of November....Can you please guide me if it would be a good idea to visit during this time....Would Rohtang Pass be open for tourists?

Never visited any place outside Maharashtra till date...suggestions & guidance for planning a visit to Manali/Rohtang Pass are most welcome!!

Planning for a tour of 8-10 days including travel time from Mumbai & back.

Thx....

First week of November should be OK if it does not snow heavily too early. Generally even if you can not make it to Rohtang because of heavy snow you can enjoy similar views and snow fields in Marhi.
Try to start early at about 5 am from Manali in a private taxi as traffic jam is common when there is snow fall etc and tourist vehicles are not allowed to climb up.

This would mean your or my personal car, but hired jeeps/taxis are allowed?

It snowed yesterday in Himachal. Rohtang had 2 feet of snow and Manali had around 6 inches.
