@Halleysaran: Regarding the bus from Kaza to Manali. What time it starts from Kaza? Do you think the road to Manali via Grampu and Batal will be opened by June 20th?

1) it is possible or nearly possible , but why do you want to ruin your day , You are young but Altitude will make you go slow you wont be able to walk that much on a singal day and feel happy about it, i would suggest you spend night at Chandratal
2) Yes you will I have so possibly you can too, yes temperature goes down but keep a sleeping bag with you and put all your cloths on , night will go pretty easy (its depend upon person to person, some precieve cold more than others)( i am a skinflint , didnt want to spend money on those overpriced tents and food at chandratal, if you have money tent will be there for you @ chandratal , tent will be a bit before chandratal so if you really wanna enjoy camping near lake you better bring your own tent or open sky policy :P)
3)yes there are two dhabas kinda thing you can have meals there too as well as sleeping space (do tell me wether PWD resthouse is completely ready or not) batal is 14 + 1-2 km away from chandratal , 14 km is just length of link road b/w main road and chandratal
4)yes public transport is avalible but they dont start bus as soon as road open , they take some time usually 20 days after road opens untill then only small jeeps ply on those roads, which transport mainly tourists so you can get one, I would suggest you take jeep upto Gramphoo from there lots of buses (comparatively) goes on Keylong-Manali route. two buses to gramphoo (Kaza-Manali, Kaza-Keylong)
5) Keep visiting official website of Lahul-Spiti district , there you can get status of road under "Keylong-Kaza"
if it will most probably open by time you go so i wont suggest you some terrible routes usually done on foot
if it is closed there is no way you can go through normal road you will have to track through some terrible terrain
as for bus it will reach Batal around 11Am-12 it is not fixed , Bus stops at batal for a break of 1/2 hour, you can ask owner of Dhaba regarding whether bus has started and timing
I am glad i could be of any help to you
P.S. I would suggest you use High SPF sunscreen , it will be hot in day and you skin will be baked worse than Delhi

Hey Jini, as always you have been a guidance.
Regarding our stay at Chandrataal, we have our options open. Let the day decide what it wants us to do. I have to confess that I never had to do this much of information harvesting.
9 more days to go before we embark on our much awaited trip!! Wooo Hooooo !
