need info on kafnu (kinnaur), sept last week - 4 days from delhi

namaste !!

Kafnu is the last village connected by road towards PIN valley if going from Shimla via Wangtu. I am planning to ride from Delhi to this village. The total distance would be 550 kms approx (correct me, if m wrong)

give me info about this village.

1. does Katgaon have (2.5 kms before Kafnu) the last govt. accomodation on this route? Give me some idea of accomodation in Kafnu?

2. which places can be visited near by. as i'll be having just 2 full days in hand for Kafnu.

3. which route should i opt from Delhi. I dont wanna repeat ambala - kalka - shimla again n again.

4. road condition after recent heavy rains in Himachal.

no idea buddy, will have to wait for someone who's already been there. Even I am looking for somewhat similar suggestions. when would you be going or if you have already been there, please answer the question yourself for the benefit of others.

I have been there in the month of Aug 10 the motorable road is up to Kafnu ,me along with 5 other friends have taken the same rout what you have chosen ..there is one ok kind of hotel in kafnu named River view that is the only available hotel there & the 2nd option is to be a paing guest to the locals which is a better way of travelling ..since we were with gals with us we prefer staying in hotel & one mor thing that if you are looking for some food then do take it before9:30 or else you need to strugle it after that ,the only available dhaba/tapri is right in front of the hotel which again keeps a limited stock& beleve me for food there is no other option.

2)from Kafnu you can head to Mulling which is 12km from Kafnu its a nice trek & a life time experince so never miss it if you are ok with trekking,I strongly recomed you for the above for more details just go to my post on the trek
one request lease do not use polythenes & other plactic bcoz I am in love with that place let it be clean for others.

3)Since we have don our trip in the monsoon season when rains were there even then by grace of God we never face any rosd blocks ,a few land slides will be there through out the year so dont be panic
