if anyone is still reading/following this thread ...

Should I be concerned about all the recent terrorism attacks in Pakistan when Dharamsala/ Mcleod Ganj is so close? Is it safe?

Despite this nervousness I am getting excited 3 weeks to go

Sarah

Good question Sarah.

Probably no need to worry too much on that front. It may look close on the map, but there's enough distance to be a safe buffer zone. Of course, terrorist attacks can happen anywhere though. Especially anywhere in India.

OK, then we will miss each other by two days. Sure, we'll catch up elsewhere. The world is getting smaller all the time :-)

Enjoy your trip !

McLeod Ganj in november would be pleasantly cold. Not snowing, but pretty cold. Nice time to visit the place. Had been there last november.

Last November in Mcleodganj was sunny and warm! In the evenings only a jumper was required. Nights were cuddly under the blanket.

Miki, my plan is to arrive on the 15th of November, but you know how it is with plans, they often change :-)

Hi Sarah :-)

What do you mean by overnight train from Rishikesh to Dharamshala? Which route is the train going?

A jumper and jacket will be all you need for warmth in Mcleod at that time of year. As for shoes, just normal runners would be fine.

The online visa tracker is indicating that it will be ready for collection within 24 working hours! Fingers crossed :-)
