Smile Mcleod ganj end of January

Hello
Im off to India for 3 months next week and am getting the last minute planning wobbles. I was planning to go Mcleod ganj at the end of January and was wondering what gear i need to bring.
Im very much a light packer and was wondering if i should bring my light thermal jacket? or will i be ok justtoo bring a light fleece, thermals and stock up on gloves, shawl, hat etc when i arrive?
Im starting my trip in Kerala so im packing pretty light.
Also will be too cold at that time of year to visit or will everything be closed?
Any advice much valued
Thanks

Talking mcleod ganj end of January

Nameste, nice in the day. Quite cool at night. Could wake up with lots of snow some morning as I did in a January. But you can stay down the mountain in Dharmsala where it is more temperate in climate and just take a super crowded jeep taxi up the hill when you want to hang in McLeod (about 20 rupees, or a nice morning walk up the hill) McLeod Ganj is much nicer than Dharmsala in my humble opinion. Happy trails

I would bring warm clothes. You can buy extra clothes up here if you need to.
More than half of the shops and restaurants will be open. Personally I like winter as it is more relaxing, not many tourists.
