Manali to Dharamsala

Ok so what are my options for traveling from Manali to Dharamsala? So far it seems like it is either government bus or private car. Is that correct or are there private buses (and if so...where can I book one)?

do you want to do the journey by day or night?? traveling by day will take up the whole day, so i recommend you do it by night. i know of one travel agency that offers night service between mcleodganj and manali. there must be other companies as well.

If you wish to travel by public transport from manali.. take buses till Mandi... and then change for bus to Dharamshala via Palampur. On our own vehicle we started at around 2 pm from Manikaran and reached palampur around 8 pm. ( dharamshala is just 30Km from palampur)
