Manali To DharamSala

Hi,

I would be staying at a hotel in Manali next week for 3 days. I need to know that is it worth visiting Dharamsala and how much time does it takes to reach there approx?

I will be having a private taxi with me, so travelling is not a problem. I need to know that can I go to Dharamsala and come back to Manali in a day?

The distance betwen Manali & Dharamsala is 240KM . Now it is your choice.

The average speed will be 40km / hour (apprx). So it will take 6-7 hrs.

I liked Dharmasala (McCleod Ganj) so much better than Manali. The vibe is so much more relaxing and interesting. I would recommend Dharmasala over Manali any day. But, it's definitely not worth it just spending one day there. You need at least a couple days.

Worth visiting, yes. But not very impressive. The town is crowded and parking/traffic is a nightmare.

The tibetan camp town of Kushalnagar (in Karnataka) has the true tibetan feel. The architecture of the temple and the statues in it are breathtaking.
