Thumbs up Manali Recent Pics ( 12 -16 Dec 2007 ) my personal experience

( IMAGES ARE BELOW THIS INFORMATION ) let them load..

We enjoyed at our full.. Just before reaching manali on 12th, we came to know ...their was snowfall on 11th dec.,

I left delhi at 8.30 PM and reached Chandigarh at : 1.45 PM ( It was raining ) and we took some photographs just prior to chandigarh.. with fruit trees of oranges/mausambi...

IN Chandigarh:
we visited : rock garden, rose garden, and beautifull lake.. we loved this city,... it was clean.. and all streets and roads was cleaned as we keep our house clea.. it was fantastic experience.

We left chandigarh at 9 PM ( we took rest of 2-3 hrs in between).

after alot of searching for good dhaba for dinner.. couldn't find any good hotel after leaving chandigarh till next 50-60 kms.. so we took risk by eating at good looking 3rd class dhaba.. ( Rice lover's note , no rice is available on this route.. )..
about 15 kms from here road is severly bad.. but not a problem just drove slow.. and all lost time will be covered..

after this.. we started driving towards manali again.. just about 50 kms. more.. we got hilly roads.. "Ghat"... (REMEMBER from here its all roads at hilly upwards and downwards..). as i have drived.. i enjoyed.. that.. it was nice experience.. i stopped..at a good looking Petrol filling station prior to SWARGHAT.(TIME: 12:00) i took rest inside the car ( as it was too cold outside) for next 2.30 hrs.. ha ha... i am tough man.

( i did above as i was thinking to match the volvo timings which departs from delhi at 5.30.. ). ..
i started driving again at 2.30 AM -- and again drived about 40-50 kms. and got sleepy and slept...about 4.30-5:00 AM i started driving ( i was near sundernagar i think).. it was too kohra ( MOIST).. with about 30% visibility.. so i was just following a HPTC bus.. it was not a problem... from here.. i was expecting to see snow.. but disappointed.. i was about 120 kms. far still..

after constant driving..as the daylight feeling was coming. i was getting excited..i reached kullu.. here rajnational bus crossed me.. and then my car and that bus both was like couple on roads.. from kullu i saw ice on mountains which we very far..

from kullu its about 35-40 kms. distance.. however drive is too good. as we see alot of good natural scenarary...
i reached MANALI
and PAID 200 RS. as parking fees.. that is valid for 7 days for cars, and this is compulsary..

the manali was wearing ice in all. just main roads was uncovred.... it was ice all over..

i was having booking in hotel Apple Country, ( i was fortunate to get 2 rooms there, we were 2 couples )... this hotel is superb.. this hotel is situated in highest mountaing , and road reachable..point of manali.. the MALL (shopping area) is in mid of manali and is not allowed for vehicles..

from mall i drove towards my hotel and i found ice on roads.. ( wow what a experience)...

i was on mountain.. which i was seeing from 35 kms.. and was imangining the sceneary.. and what a experince. i was there itself...

I was having package of 3 nights and 4 Days.. for 8250/- including 3 heavy breakfasts + 3 lunch/dinners+ 200 Rs. coupen for bars.. and a fruitbaset..+ Half day sightseeing this hotel was having centralised heating too.. nice experience.. ( atleast when i compare other hotels i can give A++++ marks to thier hospitality).

they provided half day sight seeing to us by qualis.. .. next day. we enjoyed solang valley.. i went their by my car itself ( thank god i have car.. else other gipsy and other rented cars must have costed me more then 1000 for this )..

on the way to solang valley you need to take dresses for ice.. in this ur cloths will not get wet, and u will got good feeling even when u r 90% in ice too).. KINDLY DO TAKE IT.. ITs compulsary..

i bargained heavily on this.. they ask me 200/- per dress. but i took 4 adult dress + 1 kid dress with shoes for all and handgloves for all in 300Rs only.. ( IT was shop no. 135)

solang valley is nice experience .. Indica.. indigo.. alto.. vans( maruti )..all was their.. it was ice all over the road.. just drive slow in 1st and 2nd gear. and do not take immergency brakes. just drive slow.. its easy. then the rough traffic of delhi..

i have too much to write here.. but not in mood to type more..

The hotel food is way too costly in the shopping area.. i went a average looking hotel and found all of the rate above 150Rs even for "CHana masala " sabzi...

the funniest thing is 5 panipuri for 20 Rs. ha ha..
so peoplese coming to manali must eat panipuri in their cities.. as here u will get not that taste which can be justified for 20Rs.

also. thumsUp is not available.. limca is also not available in manali.. only coke.. and fanta.. is there.

I felt proud looking on the food rates in my hotel (apple country) everything was below 100 INR , and the food taste was too good..

now.. just look at some pics.. and see what i have felt...

( I readed too many articles on this site.. before leaving for manali so thought to provide more latest photos and experience to you readers.. )...

Thanks for telling us about your visit to Manali and the snow; I think it has changed very much since I was there in 1971!

And your photos are lovely ... but did your faces freeze off?

Man,
I am sorry to say, that such pics with no faces are very annoying. Please either keep them personal or if you want to share kindly let it be as clicked.

Nice post; thank you!

We don't allow external links, but you can either upload here as attachments to the post, or use a hosting site that supports thumbnails and include those with your post.

Yep... that is pretty odd with the faces. Either give us landscapes or whole people. No more of the white squares.

I can understand a desire to respect privacy --- but in that case, no need to include the people in the first place!

I agree with earlier poster about those faces being cut from pics. It really does look bad.
