Manali...guesthouses, things to do/see

If I plan to go to Manali can I get there say in February or will it be snowed in?

how long should I plan to stay if I like to do short day hikes and just relax?

also any recommendations for guesthouses in 250-500 INR range?

I was going to Manali every year by my car from last 10 years, but due to protest from family member I can;t go from last 2 years

We are heading to dharmasala Manali for like 8-9 days end of dec.
2N3D in dharmasala and
3N4D in Manali for trekking and camping.
We prefer to stay in tents...

What are the options for trekking there?
How much it would cost for a group of 3?

And after the trekk we will have 2 days to sit back and enjoy, please suggest some affordable hotels.

And most important whats special to do's for new year in manali ?
happening places, parties??

It could be snowing in Feb. My fave budget place to stay is Sunshine GH which you can read about here Manali Meetups
& there is a link to my photo's of SS GH & surrounds. Try visit Vashisht village which is a nice walk from Manali & Nagar village where you can see the wooden castle & the house museum & gallery of the russian Mystic & artist Nicholas Roerich.

Manali is awesome! Irrespective of any season!
It doesn't snow much in manali, as compared to rothang.
Yes accomodation is available in your range. Minimum of 300rs per room. We got at same price. The hotel name is Durga hotel 1 minute walking distance from the mall road. But there are budget hotels there.

Dec 27th :Solang – Dhundi (2840 Mts.) 02.30 Hrs.

Dec 28th hundi – Beas kund (3,600 Mts.) (5Hrs.)

Dec 29th : Beas Kund (3,600 Mts.) – Manali
Trekk Over..

Dec 30th : Relax for 2 days !!!

Dec 31th: Prepare for New Year

thanks for the great info I will prob caome to Manali at the first part of February, I am now doing some volunteering in McLedoGanj and feel at home so plan to stay 2 months at least!
