Manali to Kaza
I will break this into the following parts Manali to Rohtang Road is full of muck and mud. Water streams form a part of the road. Road can be slippery if it has rained overnight. Rohtang to Chhatru Road has mud. Mainly a dirt road with spots of paved portion. Chhatru to Batal The road is in a very bad condition. Road consists of a large number of snowmelt water streams on the road. It is not paved and all gravel. There are waterfalls right on the road. Huge masses of ice lay on the side of the road at many places. Batal to Losar Gravel road, waterfalls and streams are there but not so much. Losar to Kaza Paved road with spots of Gravel in between.Generally the road is in a good condition. 1 or 2 water streams in between. I have seen people doing the entire stretch from Manali to Kaza in Altos and even an odd Santro. I would suggest you take the SX4 it will be able to handle the road conditions easily. Kaza to Kinnaur Roads are in a good condition with some rough patches in between.Easily doable on Wagon R as well as SX4
