After booking and cancelling trip trice, this time I am making a fourth attempt to visit mystic Kinaaur. There will be three couples (we two will be senior citizens) visiting the land of Kailash,

We have booked ourselves by the morning flight of 3rd June, reaching N. Delhi around 10 :00 Hrs. Our confused travel plan is as follows:

3rd June : Kolkata to Dalhi. Board a prebooked Xylo type car for the entire Journey and proceed to Chail. N/S at Chail.
4th June: Chail to Sarahan. N/S at Sarahan.
5th June : After Bhim Kali Mandir Darshan in the morning, proceed to Chitkul. N/S at Chitkul.
6th June :Lazying at Chitkul (my wife will be travelling after a major operation, which she has already undergone - much strain is avoidable), N/S at Chitkul
7th June : Chitkul to Kalpa ; Night stay at Kalpa
8th June : enjoying Kalpa, N/S at Kalpa
9th June : Kalpa to Narkanda (N/s at Narkand)
10th June : Cosying up at Narkanda.
11th June : Narkanda to Chandigarh
12th June : Chandigarh to New Delhi Airport (Flt is at 6:20 PM)

Last time Kaushik(Kshil the Great), Dilliwalla etc, helped me to a great extant to firm up my travel plan, suggesting car and driverfor Airport to Airport car rental, Suggesting medium budget hotels at locations. etc.

Can I expect similar kind support now?

A few questions - How cold it will be in Kinaaur (specially Chitkul and Kalpa During first week of June? May it rain marring the spirit? Do the hotels over there have Attached bath with western commodes? Do we get non veg food? Do we need to take Diamox 250 befor journey and, if yes,, dosage.

Thanks

Kinnaur comes under rain shadow area so rains shouldn't be a problem especially in June.

I think you don't need to carry Diamox. If you are visiting high altitude places for the first time then you may carry it.

I found that Diamox did not help me personally. Chitkul is 3500mt I think and I felt quite ill up there, sleeping badly, no appetite, headaches. In the end I jumped in a shared taxi, slept till Rampur almost and woke up feeling 100% normal again. If your wife is recovering from an operation and you are travelling up from sea-level so fast it might be advisable to sleep a bit lower, say Sangla, and go up to Chitkul for a day visit. Just in case.
This is what climbers do......Trek high but sleep low, well over the next pass.
Normally people don't have problems below 3500mt but I live all year at sea-level so maybe that influences the equation.
