kinnaur Kailash Parikrama

I plan to come to Kinnaur for the third time in july 2011 for trekking with my family.
This time the family will consist of my wife, our three youngest children (13, 11 et 7 years) and me.
One of the treks I like to do is the Kinnaur Kailash Parikrama but on this trek le day form Lalanti to chitkul is very long. Is there some possibility to sop for the night after the Charang pass on the middle of the way to chitkul? Some place to camp, a cave or a big stone to spend a night safely?
For the path over the villages we need guide and porters, is it possible to find them in Charang?

Thank for your help.

Hi, Well Ideally You can Camp From the Pass to Chitkul, But many people skip this. What you can do instead is.. camp at the base of the pass. And Cross the pass. Next Day and move straight to Chitkul.
Yes You can Find a Guide and Porters in Charang if you go there directly. But prepare to spend 1-2 days there since people don't have access to phone in that village till now So it might take sometime to find porters and organize your walk over the charang la.
You can get in touch with a chap called Sonu in charang village he has taken many groups to chitkul over the pass. And he has a Contact Person In Recong Peo. You can call him to inquire about Sonu and this trek at this number +919805530056.

Hope this helps

If you need a guide, donkey or porteurs to make trek form Charang, there is a trekking agency in the village (Raacho campingaz & trekkers point). Ask for Sonu, he is a very nice man, his house is down the village, just after the shop on the right (he is the shop keeper to)

Yes, raacho campingz, sonu is a good friend. I did the charang pass with him this month.
He can also be found in Recong-Peo @ Tourist information center >> The Monk Travel Agency
