Ki Chaam Festival in Ki in Spiti

Does anybody know when the Ki Chaam Festival in Ki Gompa in Spiti takes place this year?

Hi! Don't know the exact date this year, in 5-6 days I'll be in Spiti and will be able to tell you,or perhaps already in a couple of days when still in Delhi or Manali,if someone else hasn't told you yet. It happens normally in July,last year near the end of the month(23rd I think),the years before earlier. In July there is also the cham of Kungri,which is in my opinion even much more interesting.

Last summer, it was on July 14th (or maybe a day before or a day after).

@voyager61 : do you have the exact date of cham of Kungri ? Any other interesting festival in Spiti in July ?

Hi! I go to Spiti tomorrow,so give a couple of days and I think I will be able to tell you all the exact dates. A nice cham is the one of Comic,but that happens in October,a one day affair with lots of people and food and lama dances in and outside the gompa.

Hi! The chaam in Ki will be held on 31st July,don't know yet abou Kungri,possibly before that. Last year in Ki it happened indeed on 13 july

Hi! Lama with masks and costumes dancing from morning to mid afternoon,then walking over the people laying on the ground to bless them on the path going around the monastery.
