KAZA(spiti) HELP

hi um theres like no real information about the town of Kaza in Spiti online...the only thing that I find is basically info on the Ki gompa, and the complaints of the ugly govt. buildings in Kaza. For any of you who have been there, what is it really like? Are there any adequate restaurants and hotels which are not just like..a tent or something...and I have also never seen any pics of the town except some from google image search which don't really help. If any of you have some pictures, could you please show them? It's not really about when/if I am going, because this is a long way from now...in the summer... and if you have been to Leh, please compare how it relates/contrast to Leh, other than the fact that its much smaller. THANKS!

We stayed in Kaza just over a year ago for a couple of nights.

It's not the prettiest of places as compared to say, Nako, Kibber or Tabo but there are plenty of guest houses and small hotels. We didn't see anything in the way of an upmarket restaurant but there are also quite a few places where you can get some basic Indian/Tibetan food. You certainly wouldn't starve there.

I think part of the town was destroyed a few years ago when floodwater went through it - now there's a wide area of shingle and sediment which divides the town.

Leh is a massive place compared to Kaza, with all facilities, and becoming increasingly visited, whereas Kaza just has a few people passing through, or did have in the last couple of seasons due to flood and landslide problems.
