You can visit Udaypur-Triloknath in one day and another day, can visit the villages of Darcha and Gispa, even may visit Barlacha La pass and Suraj Taal, the source of river Bhaga, which passes through Lahaul.

thanks

thanks amarshah.its my dream -
1. leh ladakh via rohtang manali
2.lahaul spiti.
but, i wan to go driving & its time problem. in guess spiti lahaul rohtang n back will require atleast 7 days and also leh via manali n back also will require 7 days . i am in delhi.
is it possible in lesser duration . i have been reading threads for last year or so.
then i know i will require a suv . i am planning to buy a new one by sept this year can u/anyone suggest which is the best suv /4wd for these . i will be going with my family around 5 persons.high ground clearance and good suv-i am presently thinking of tata safari 4wd as i like it really .will it be ok.
third idon have very knowledge if the car gets some problem. i cant repair .i have been to many places even till tabo in my santro and i find the only problem was with ground clearance.again it is also the luck. i got my gears breakdown 25 km before nako and it was no habitation area all know.but luckily i was able to drive 25kms in 1st gear till i get one mechanic .
so tell me what will be the best 4 wheel drive for these 2 trips.i will do tyhem next year.
any other important info u can share . i already have loads but any amount is less till u go n r back
thanks

Shaleen during my recent trip to Leh,i was talking to a few taxi drivers and they were very happy with the tata Sumo or else Scorpio. They were no to happy with the Safari from Tata though. But i guess if its for personal use also a Safari or Scorpio would be an ideal choice.

You can cut the trip to Spiti from 7 days for sure but to Leh you would need that taking in account your drive up and down.

I myself am keen on doing Spiti but i guess it will have to wait as of now...

Hi! From Kaza you either rent your own jeep to Keyolng,5000 Rs,or take the Manali bus to Gramphoo, and there wait for a bus or a car to take you to destination.

hi

hi thanks. amarshah.u r right . scorpio is more into taxi segment as muv and safari exclusively for the personal use as suv.most of the taxi drivers have no experienceof safari. reason is mainly the cost. most of the specifications of the two are similer but price wise safari is costlier. tata gp has kept it high may be to keep it pure suv.so i guess if one wans to go for cost effectiveness its scorp but with a taxi taxi feel and if one want a pure suv but not thinking of the value for cost-than its safari. new safari is better with much more power efficiency.

hey amartshah tell me how was your tour--
how much time it took
how you go-selfdrive or with driver/taxi..
tell yo experience

Frankly speaking i am not 100% with you on this. I still feel Scorpio is a good n better car .. can be used as a pvt car not only taxi/muv and suggested.. its more reliable. Also in the cold winters, they start flawlessly compared to the safari this is what i am told !

Shaleen details of the trip go to http://amards14.googlepages.com/

hi

maybe you are right. i have no experience of either.... but look wise to me safari appeals more.. scorpis also good..

hey tell me about yo trip.. have u written elsewhere.. i m waiting. i have been to spiti this may . in my santro. road from sangla to puh was bad but not horrible.many places construction work was going on. after that in spiti road was good but it was like a lonely planet.. very few people but scenic view was really GREAT...I couldgo till tabo due to time constraint
