A Trek is a Trek...
Hiya...
You said 'a Walking Trek'...! Is there any other kinda trek, if I may ask...? A running one, at best...?? Just kiddin'...! (Rather, just pulling your Walking Leg...!) But honestly, I really do admire your spunk and attitude at wanting to do this... Had thought of walking along the Spiti Valley last year; atleast for a few days... But then the tourist in me kinda took over and got the better of the trekker in me; and I ended up seeing as much that could be fitted into a week's itinerary...! Soo... how many of u...? From where to where exactly...? Plan of action...? Cheers...! ![]() |

at present we are two waiting for snow to melt and passes to clear and shepherds to move. However feasibility shows apart from spunks if yu wish to walk this distance yu require proper contingency planning and for that we require minimum four like minded freaks. So if yu r interested , let me know, there is still lot of planning in progress and to answer yur genuine doubt now a days if yu see advertisement yu would find treks in buses and sumos which have really become popular. |

What is the route you are planning and how much time does it take? Also can it be done in Late Aug , early September - which is when I can get a break.

(a) We are planning this trek in the first week of June after a through acclimatisation ahead of Manali for atleast one week. So trek really begins around second week of June. (b) In August and Sept things begin to deteriate and weather begins to chill up and to add to further diffculties, people begin to mov down and that compounds the adm problem. (c) The route is via Keylong and it should take around 15-18 days if morale, stamina and adm remains supportive. ( We r also going for first time on this route so planning is for this time). (d) This trek will involve innumerable hardships so apart from adventurous mindset the body should be extremely conditioned and physically toned. So to be a part of this trek ,yu have to be extremely fit (from mountain point of view). ![]() |
