Itinerary check: Delhi - HP - Delhi in 2 weeks

Hello there!

I arrive in Delhi on Saturday 26th @ 11am. I have only 2 weeks to dip into the well-known and lesser-known beauties that Himachal Pradesh has to offer...

After much 'umming' and 'errring', and some help from you guys, I think I've decided on the following as a rough itinerary and I'd like your knowledgeable thoughts and any ideas for improvements please!

5 days: Delhi – Shimla – Narkanda – Sarahan

5 days: Sarahan - Mandi and Rewalsar Lake – Manali and Naggar

3 days: Manali – McLeod Ganj (explore area i.e. Kangra and Palampur)

2 days: McLeod Ganj – Amritsar (if time!) – Delhi

I don't mind what order I do things in but does this itinerary look reasonable and will I have enough time in each place?

Anything I should add/miss out?

I've only booked my first night's accommodation in Delhi, then I assume I can get transport and accommodation as I go along. Is that right?

Also, is it possible to get from Sarahan to Mandi without having to go back through Shimla?

While in Mcleondganj check Triund. Very good trek.

For going to Mandi you will have to catch a bus from Rampur around 30 kms from Sarahan. The buses will not pass through Shimla.

I think you could increase a day during Phase 3 by reducing a day in Phase 1 or Phase 2.

Thanks Bonded - will try and adjust the first part of my itinerary and make sure I leave enough time for trekking near Manali. Can't wait!
