Is Himachal safe in monsoons

Hi
I am desperately seeking info on the road and weather conditions in himachal. I am travelling from delhi to leh on the 5th of July in my ford ikon. I plan to take the manali route. any bit of info will be appreciated.

No idea, so mostly just bumping this.

If you try this whole thread: India climate chart it links on to some weather sites that should be pretty up-to-date. It also links on to the Indian meteorological department, which keeps relevant updates on a number of areas.

Himachal has the best maintained mountain roads in India. In July it will rain but as you get beyong Rohtang it will be dry.

Smile Rohtang Pass

Hi,

I have been to Rohtang pass 10 days back...
The road from Manali to Rohtang pass is very difficult one...


I wont advice you to drive through that route during monsoon..
The view is fantastic... Due to no. of vehicle going to Rohtang, there will be a traffic Jam ... Try to cross Rohtang pass early atleast before 7-8AM...otherwise you will get stuck for hours...

If you are driving through this route... take atmost care...
