inner line permit

Hi,

this was posted today in the lonelyplanet forum:

[i]I will be arriving in Shimla on June 10 and want to go from there to Tabo via Sarahan and Rekong Peo . I am running into alot of local Govt red tape because they are telling me ( Officially ) that I cannot do this trip alone . Anyone in the area around this time interested in making the same trip as I believe each ILP needs to have four people on it ?

From Kaza I will then go to Keylong and then onto Leh by bus / yak . whatever.
Has anyone done this trip <b>alone</b> recently and does anyone actually check for permits ?
Last time I was in the Hundar Valley and when the bus stopped at the permit checkpoint , the people with no permits just stayed on the bus and no one seemed to care !![/I

Is this true with the minimum of 4 persons?

It seemed not two years ago , I was offered single permit in Rekong . Maybe the agents use the same kind of drawer with old photostats of passports as they do in Leh with the Nubra permits , filling up to norm when needed..
