Hello,
me and my girlfriend want to go to India for our first time!! We are most interessted in Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh, but I know, that we would travel while there is main monsoon (traveltime: 25.7.-15.8.). Is it rainig all day long or are there days without rain ?? Which areas in HP and UTR are less influenced by monsoon??I canīt find something real useful about this in the internet. Please help us, we really want to go there, but, if itīs raining there for days or weeks without a break, itīs no fun then anymore... Thanks a lot, Bilbo01. ![]() |

The Best Place to go during that time in Himachal & Uttaranchal would be to go to Dharamshala ( Dalai Lama's HQ), Shimla (can be left out), Manali, Kaza, Keylong & go to Leh from there, and come back to Delhi by flight from Leh.
If you want to go to Uttaranchal the lower areas are ok during that time, but sometimes like last year due to landslides many places in Garhwal region were cut-off, so you can go to nainital & Almora side (you can go to Kasar Devi too- as some people here have told it offers a great panoramic view of the Himalayas ) |
