Many people had advocated that road will open in Last week of MAY. Yes- beacuse INDIAN ARMY open for thier heavy vehicles but this is about INDIAN ARMY-they prepare themselves for any hanky panky situation come in thier way...they have full supplies and RT.

But a normal tourist find himself in deep trouble when he struck up in NO-WHERE situation and our cars and SUVs fails there. I had gone through situation where my SAFARI could not handle the snow slippery on oad although I am having BIG RADIAL TYRES...

Reason is simple-we need 4x4 vehicle and almost all ARMY VEHICLES running on these roads are 4x4.

Please do not try to attempt...although there is possibility that you may get through but if you could NOT-then will be REAL ADVENTURE which could be too much...sometimes !!

ALWAYS DRIVE and TRAVEL on these high altitue roads after 3rd week of JUNE.

U r right about mighty Zozi -la. I shall be trying Manali-Leh in end of June on Bike, hopefully

yes i'm planning a trip through Kinnaur & Spiti (after browsing pics by Lovemax), Gurgaon-Delhi-Ambala-Narayangarh-Nahan-Solan-Shimla-Rampur-Recong-peo-Tabo-
Kaza-keylong-Manali-Delhi

I usually travell by my tiny Maruti-800. But this time i am thinking of Bike (maybe TVS Apache), although i am not sure if i can ride a bike this long.
I ride to office daily on bike (CBZ since 2001). About 25-30 kms daily. I am worried i'll get backache and a sore butt. Never-the-less i will try to go as much far as i can go.

Mk

MK: When are you planning this Kinnaur-Spiti drive?

'Coz I am driving down as well..mid to end June on my Scorpio..so maybe if you are heading that way before I am..you could help me with the road conditions.

Hi Yogesh,

I doubt her (CBZ) engine could take such strain, she's 2001-December model.
Some engine parts must be in bad/critical shape. Although ride-wise she's good.

hmm... i own a April 2002 model pulsar 180 and will be testing her metal yet again this year by going to ladakh. Lovemax has a 2000 or 2001 model CBZ, like i said there is nothing that cant be fixed one just needs to take care of their rides. replace parts before they need to be replaced and keep checking for signs of trouble. but then again most find it easier to just go out and buy a new bike ever couple of years. nothing wrong with that approach, that way you get an almost trouble free bike.

Absolutely agree with Yogesh,

Mine's 2001 Jan model which still kicks ass and engine condition is stock..
