Roads so far are all fine.
Flash floods have no affected anything that should interrupt your journey. Its been raining since last 4 days in leh but didnt rain today

The road from Manali to Leh had its monsoon problems some 3 days ago. Now things have normalised and the vehicles are arriving from both sides.

Hi,

News is even worst this year. Himachal has very less snow this year, no snow in solang valley as on 26-27-28th January. Recently a xbhp'ian visited Manali and he almost reached Marhi on his Motor-Bike. What do you say ?

Snow Condition in Rohtang Pass : April 15, 2008

As per the local newspaper in Manali, BRO (Boarder Road Organization), had target to clean Rohtang by 20th April, by putting several machines to cut the 30 feet snowfall of this year. Unfortunately due to fresh snowfall on Rohtang on all days between 11-14th April, this work is expected to get delayed.
I advice you to keep looking at the news, before attempting anything in the area.

As per my sources, BRO has already cleared snow till Rani Nallah but Rohtang to Gramphoo is still no vehicle zone.

I wonder what's prompting BRO to clear snow early this year. It's almost one month earlier than previous years.
Is it due to work on Rohtang Tunnel ? Do they have to resume the tunnel work. Just guessing.

Rohtang Tunnel is no where near the pass, there is very little snow on top of passes this year, which is why the Sriangar - Leh route has opened today (will be open for traffic tomorrow) and Manali - Leh would by the end of this month or early next month.

BRO's website is : http://bro.nic.in/
unfortunately, like most other Govt Agencies, there site is outdated, and doesn't provide any information of this year situation.
There is some information on Rohtang Tunnel, though.
