Hotel in Solang Valley

Is stay at Solang Valley convenient in mid-December?
If one stays at Solang, would it be expensive to get a taxi/auto rickshaw from Manali Bus Stand to Solang Valley?

Please also recommend some hotels/Guest Houses in Solang along with contact details, if possible.
Thanks

I don't think there are G/H at Solang valley. There is a Solang Resort and it would be expensive. There are a few G/H and hotels before Solang Valley after crossing the bridge to the other side of the river towards Hotel Highland Park etc

Yes, the hotels/GHs are closer to Palchan.
There really is no benefit in staying in that area. It's a half-hour from Manali, if u want to ski, and think of the evenings. Not much to do at Solang/Palchan other than stay indoors.
There are other establishments at Bahang, 4 km from Manali, if u want to be away from town.

Solang valley resorts is one of the best options in manali and even whispering rocks in palchhan a good option, but the rest are basic budget acco. and wud be closed in winters.

Well, Solang Valley resort is good .. We stayed there for 5 days .. Jus chilling in the backyard and relaxing .. Its a lil costly .. But in off season u can bargain .. I mean we did bargain .. Also as Rishabh said u have Whispering rocks .. Looked neat as we passed by .. Nothing much to do in Solang .. Palchan is the nearest village ..

Manali Map

Looking South-North along the Manali-Rohtang road, Bahang is 4 km, Palchan 9.5 km. Turn left here, Solang is 3 km.

These places are also marked on the N & W map of HP.

Hotel Iceland in Solang Valley is really nice and worth staying. It is run by a family where the brothers are ski champions of India. Right next to a flowing river, good food and not very expensive. It is around 30 mins to go from Solang to Manali. If you are looking for peace/quite and nature, I would go to Solang (that was my criteria). If you are looking for crowds and 'atmosphere' stay in Manali.
