Hi all, I am planning my honeymoon in the second week of december ... i have never seen snow and one the key reasons of going there is to experience snow and indulge in some adventure activities like skiing.... My research so far tells me that skiing generally happens in the months between Jan and March... is that true? Can i get to ski in the second week of december near simla. Someone told me that Kufri is a good skiing resort... and its near Simla... is is likely to snow in mid dec in kufri or areas near simla ( like nalkanda ).... we are also planning to stay in the chalets naldehra near simla.... how is that place... has anyone been there.... I am terribly confused... i would appreciate any kind of help in this matter!!!!

The itinerary that I have so far come up with is as follows :

8th Dec : Take 4.30 pm flight from Pune to Delhi
8th Dec : Take 11pm Overnight Train From Delhi to Kalka
9th Dec : Reach Kalka at 5 am
9th Dec : Take 6 am Toy train to Simla
9th Dec : Reach Simla at 11 am
9th Dec to 11th Dec : Stay in Simla and Relax
11th Dec to 14th Dec : Stay in Naldehra, visit Kufri and Nalkhanda for skiing and other adventure oriented sports
14th Dec : Leave Naldehra for Simla
14th Dec : Take Overnight Bus to Manali
15th Dec : Reach Manali in the early hours of the morning
15th Dec to 17th Dec : Stay in Manali and explore neigboring areas
17th Dec : Leave Manali for Delhi
18th Dec : Take a Flight from Delhi back to Pune

Is this itinerary too hectic or not viable in any respect. We want to basically ski... is it possible with this schedule?

For the type of honeymoon you are seeking Gulmarg would have been a better choice.
Instead of Simla you may consider staying at the Palace Hotel in Chail. Nice intimate walks and solitude, fireplace and all that. It is a state run place, not very expensive and you get discounts in winter.
For the last few years weather had been pretty crazy so can't say about the snow fall at Kufri.
There are some good places to stay at Kufri & Phago.
I don't think there is scope for much excurssions from Manali.
The itinerary is doable. Carry sufficient woolens
Enjoy.
