Honeymoon in Shimla,Kullu,Manali in Jan-Feb '10

Hi,
I was planning for a short honeymoon trip to HP this Jan-Feb.I would leave Delhi for Simla via kalka on 29th Jan night and want to b back on 6th evening to Delhi.

Can anyone help me regarding the route i sud follow to ensure maximum coverage?

I don't get the phrase "maximum coverage"!

Do you mean that you want to cover as many places as possible during the time frame? Would that be very suitable for a honeymoon?

I guess a better idea would be to layout your expectation from the trip, what kind of places you and your would-be like (touristy, off the beat) etc.

About your return on 6th, are you planning to take a connection from Delhi to some other place? Then specify the time when you must be in Delhi to get such connection.

Any idea about your budget would also be good, e.g. you can spend max X for a hotel a day etc.

thanx indra for asking..

Yes i wud like to cover the main tourist spots as i have limited time in hand.by main i mean which are the must visit spots for honeymooners and get a taste of beauty of nature.

about my return i wud return to kolkata from delhi. i plan 2 catch the rajdhani exp from delhi on 6th which i now plan 2 extend till 7th(6th wud completely cramp my visit i guess).

i want 2 cover the trip in 30K-35K.

i have a rough plan for my trip which i will describe below.Please provide me a feedback if im wrong somewhere...

Day 1:
i plan to go to kalka by kalka mail.
Day 2:
Reach Kalka early morning.catch the shivalik exp for shimla.
Reach Shimla and move around Mall
Day 3:
Go out to Chail,Kufri,Fagu,Naldehra
Stay night at shimla
Day 4:
Travel to Manali
Day 5:
Manali sight seeing
Day 6
Snow point in manali
Day 7:
Leave manali for visiting mandi via manikaran
stay at mandi
Day 8:
Mandi to Khajjar
Stay at khajjar
Day 9:
Sight seeing at khajjar
travel to amritsar
stay at amritsar
Day 10:
catch shatabdi to delhi
catch rajdhani to kolkata

the return is too hectic. Can u suggest any way around as i cant miss the train journey from kalka-shimla.

Can anyone help me whats the best way to return to Delhi from Manali considering i am touring Delhi-kalka-Shimla-manali-delhi.
I heard the busy journey may take a toll on the health..is it so??
Please help ASAP...

Skip Khajjar and Amritsar. Spend more days in Shimla and Manali instead. Take Shatabdi from Chandigarh. Btw, why a stopover in Mandi ?

And what is this Snow Point in Manali ? Do you mean Rohtang Pass ?

yes i was also planning 2 skip khajjar...but i have no idea f hw 2 get back from manali 2 delhi....hw much time does it take to go 2 chandigarh from manali...n wots the means f transport if u cud suggest...
yeah snow point is rohtang pass...which i feel will b closed during that time...

the stop over at mandi is only if i would travel to khajjar..
also is 1 n half day stay at shimla enough to go around shimla as u can c i m goin for a honeymoon...n 3 days at manali...???

Lots of buses...Volvo is the most comfortable one. About 8 hours to Chandigarh. If you can afford it, there is also a flight from Bhuntar to Delhi.

I suggest a stay in Naldehra also...in which case, 1.5 days in Shimla is not enough (even otherwise, it's not - after all, tumi honeymoon e jaccho and not on a tourist trip....kothai kothai palabe ?)

...No boss can't go for flight in that sector..Is Volvo available all through the day??? do u know abt its timing so that i can get a connecting train to delhi???
abt shimla i am reaching in the afternoon by shivalik and next day i am planning for sight seeing. The next day i plan to drive to manali spend 2-3 days there n then i am at a cross road of hw 2 get back 2 delhi....

Manali to Delhi direct overnight Volvo is available. I am also planning Shimla-Manali at the end of January.

One thing, as this is a honeymoon trip, travel less. I think only Shimla and Manali, staying at a good place out of the busy town will be a good option.

You are right Bhaswaran. Can you suggest decent hotel out of the busy Shimla & Manali town with valley views and within 1000 to 1300 INR for honeymoon in month of Feb.

thnx for the advice bro..what can be the best option for travelling from shimla to manali???i was thinking f hiring a cab from shimla and go around with it thru the whole trip....will that b a extravagant idea???

You can always hire a cab but there are good buses also. Last time, I travelled on HPTDC bus from Shimla to Manali.
