Himachal Pradesh:Travel and Staying Details?

We 5 families around 20 members intended to travel to Manali via Delhi/Simla. Please give details to reach Manali from Simla, and also reasonably comfortable and afforadable hotel accommodations for the families at Simla and Manali. Further, any tansportation available from Manali to Amristar or Deheradun/Haridwar. No of KM and Journey time. Availability of Veg.Food at Simla/Manali and weather during October 3rd week.How the private bus operators are functioning at Simla, Manali and back to Chandighar.Whate would be the charge.Please provide the details of the Hotels with Phone numbers.

Whoa, that's a lot of questions!

OK, firstly you can book HPTDC buses here:

For private bus operators from Shimla I found these:

I've no idea what their service is like but it's a start.

There are loads of places calling themselves "Punjabi dhaba" in Manali serving veg food. Shimla has a number of restaurants along and around the mall but I've no great recommendations.

Hotels I can't help with much, in both places the ones i stayed at were nothing special.
