Himachal Pradesh Tour - Help Required

Hi,

I am planning to do a Himachal Pradesh tour which will consist of Shimla and the village of Manala. I need advice on the following points:

1. How to go to Manala from Shimla and how long it will take?
2. Is this trip possible in early November...I mean will the roads be open then??

I am sorry to sound dumb. I do not recollect a Manala in Himachal.

Do you mean Malana in the Kullu Valley?

Sorry for the spelling mistake. Yes I mean Malana...

I suggest you skip Shimla. Go directly to Manali from Delhi by bus. From Manali you will have to go to Jari and from Jari trek to Malana.

Tell me one thing...what abt Kullu...wont Kullu be nearer to the place than Manali? Can I go to Kullu from Shimla...I do have a lot of time in my hand nearly 2 weeks of holiday!!

And what abt November...will these places be accessible.

Yes from Kullu you can go to Malana via Manikaran

There are three routes through which Malana could be approached: one among them is via Jari. This is also a lesser difficult route.

Any bus going to Manikaran/Kasol from Kullu/Bhuntar would be going via jari. Jari is a small village which can be approached by mini bus or taxi. From Jari the mountainous path leads to the village of Malana. It is about nine kms from Jari.
