Expect rain and some travel delays.
4/5 days, I wouldn't go very far up the hills. Shimla is faster connected, maybe it won't be too crowded then, else it doesn't have too much going for it. |

Shimla would be my choice too. Yes hardly any rush then. If you are ending your Rajasthan tour in Jodhpur you have a direct train to Kalka.

Shimla chaotic in August?
Frankly speaking Dalhousie never impressed me. Khajjiar is infinitely better. |

Thanks to all of you! I know the weather is unpredictable, but sometimes I read that during the monsoon season it't impossible to go to Himachal Pradesh, and in other places that it's nice there, so I didn't know what's the truth!
Just another question, isn't Shimla too british??? |

I am not sure if you will find Shimla British! You will have to check closer to the date of travel but I don't think Shimla would b cut off. Due to land slides it may take longer to reach.
Kullu gang thanks. Yes I have been to Prashar lake. It is such a beauty and we trekked while going and took a jeep back after two days. |

Weather at the minute is isolated showers in himachal. Landslides years ago would delay you upto 2 days but nowadays every pwd department has a jcb so if you do get stuck its usally a couple of hours but its a rear nowadays as for shimla but what way do you find shimla to british is it because of the one church and a couple of old buildings and a small theartre thats whats left shimla I would say is more like a unplanned indian city in my opinion its not very nice.
