Himachal Pradesh honeymoon

Hi guys,
I know several of these threads are alerady there but plz do help me.
I want to travel to HP for honeymoon. Time for travel is 29-01-2010 to 08-02-2010.
I do not want to go to Manali,Kulu. I would rather visit Dharamsala, Dalhousie, Khajjar and so on.
Please suggest a proper route for me. Also do mention the lodging situations, i.e. do I book before travelling(any off-season discount during that period?)
Car rentals if advisable or to opt for luxury bus services.
Shimla is the last place to stay, max 2 days may be as I want to board the Shivalik Express downhill.
Lastly, please do mention the expected cost

Kolkata - Pathankot - Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Dharamshala - Shimla is the logical route....

May rent a car from Pathankot. Search Dharamshala/Mcleodganj threads for suggestions, recently a good driver was suggested by a member.....

Costs are upto you..... some hotels in Dharamshala are available at Rs. 150 per day and some at Rs. 1500 per day....

Doing a little search on threads will help.... these places, hotels at these places and modes of travel have been discussed many times... You should get what you want.....

I asked some tour operator for customised package -
One such is Himachaltourist.com. They are asking for a rate of 16,500 per head - which includes pickup from Chakki Bank and drop at Shimla rail station.
The itinerary is included, need ur suggestion if this guy is asking the right price or should I go on my own.

I can only find the first resort on cleartrip. it has enough recommendations etc etc. Use it.

The dalhousie hotel is 2000 per night. by the same logic - u shouldn't need to pay more than 12k for accomodation.

if you are being asked 32k - that's a decently expensive deal for the taxi really!

Jan must be a lot cheaper....I am also starting on 20th and returning on 3rd. I will land up there and bargain....i hear that a lot of discounts are avilable at that time...even 50%
