Himachal In October........

Fellow members,I m planning to visit Himachal in first week of Oct.

Do suggest some places,which can be easily accessed by "Santro Car".The duration is 5-7 Days.It will be a family tour.

The starting point of Journey is Panipat ,which is 150 km away from Chandigarh.

Accomadation should be not very expensive,hopefully,discounts wiil be there in Oct.

Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Chamba all are easily accesible by car....

You may read some threads in Himachal Pradesh forum and choose an itinerary.

I have a question....
I was looking to leave Delhi to go to Manali early November. I've heard of many bus accidents/deaths happening in the mountains. Is it really safe taking a bus up there in early November? How safe is it really?

Do you mean to say that there is no accidents/deaths in plains? Accidents are occured in mountains due to lack of experience and careless driving. Yes, accidents are more fatal than in plains.

Prefer govt. run buses in Mountains. Drivers are experienced and the journey is faster. I think it will be as safe as in planes.

Road is good from Chandigarh to Kullu/Manali.

Raj Travels is a a very reputed opeartor...

But I have no personal experience of their Delhi Manali bus.
