Himachal in Oct end

Let me start with a big bunch of thanks to all contributors to this forum which has really made me embark on this life time experience - trip to HP.

As of now I'm planning to start from Chanddigarh on 27th with a night stay at Shimla and Manali to go on a trek for 3 days (Solang-Dhundi-beas kund).

Now, I need your intervention on, is this a good trek? or should I extend my drive to Leh or trek to Spiti?

Forgot to tell you that I'm trying to source a self driven car from Chandigarh and Bullet from Manali.

I know that there are so many loose eneds here and thats what exactly I need your help for.

Suggestions on alternate plans alway welcome..hear from you soon

Might be wise to check out the current weather situation on the Rhotang pass,the snows come early this year & the passes to Leh may be closed by 27th.

Kullukid - Sure thats something I'll definitely be checking out.

But for now the following is the Trek route.

Solang Nalla-Dhundi (camping)
Dhundi- Shagara Dugh (camping)Seems this route is through Gumeri reserve forest..can we expect any wildlife here?
Shagara Dugh- Marhi (camping)
Marhi- Solang/Manali

Ofcourse route courtesy to Himachal Tourism website..

How will you rate this route, as I din't want to do the same terrain all 3 days like, solang-dhundi-beaskund-solang.

Also because of Diwali I'm hearing that getting a local guide/Pitthu is of a concern, should I be worried?

We plan to do some paragliding/rafting while in Manali, any pointers? Currently I'm looking at options here
