Himachal & Punjab Road Trip

Dear friends i plan to drive across himachal & Punjab in july / aug with my family for 2 weeks can anyone suggest which route to take :-


delhi – amritsar – Dalhousie – mcleodganj – manali – shimla – delhi
or
delhi – shimla – manali – mcleodganj – dalhousie – amritsar – delhi

weather – the weather conditions in himachal around july/aug.

hotel option
would like to stay not far from mall & near golden temple.
- Mcleodganj : pema thang I feel is good as per the feedback I have got from my friends,
- also please advise which hptdc hotel is good, can book them from delhi at once.

hi.. delhi simla route will be better but in july aug its heavy rains and you might come across some land slides because of which you might get stuck at some places so do check raod conditions before traveling. roads are good .

Either route is ok, take your pick. It's the monsoon so be mentally prepared for some delays, e.g, road-blocks, landslides.
