Great Himalayan National Park

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone here has been to this place before and can help provide me with information on how to get there etc.

I tried calling the director's number for information but can't seem to get through so trying here in the meantime.

So far from what I have gathered, I need to get to this Sai Ropa visitor center...and for that I need to take a bus from Naggar to Kullu, then Kully to Aut, then Aut to Banjar. So my first question is, how do I get to Sai Ropa from Banjar? Walk?

I read they have accomodation at the visitor center and that is also where you buy the entry permit etc. Do they offer guide services and also trekking options along with gear and guide?

As you can see I am kind of lost on this one...can't seem to find a lot of information so will take anything you guys can give me. Seems like a wonderful place to visit and stay in and I want to do everything I can to get there and not miss out while I am here in HP.

The number for the director or that sai ropa place is out of order so I wasn't able to confirm any bookings etc.

But I did find the tourist center in Kullu and the guy there was very helpful and called someone in that area who could help me and gave me his info and even told me what bus to take at what time etc.

He gave me a brochure that indicates one has to bring their own camping gear if going trekking while online it says it will be provided...so not sure but I guess i'll find out soon enough

Leaving kully for GHNP tomorrow...kullu was not the right place to stop...should have just planned to leave early from Naggar instead of spendnig a day here...oh well, it all worked out somehow.
