Hey, great pics O.B. love the snow view from the Sunshine balcony outside "MY" room!
I was also disappointed the first time i visited Mcleod, but it was raining & misty all the time, been back twice since & loved it, but like you preferred staying in Bhagsu both times where it's a bit more laidback. But would probably stay in Daramkot next time. KK |

thanks
its only been 6 weeks and i already miss himachal kk, i would love to get back to manali just to visit sunshine...i passed much time with the owner talking about organic farming and the overuse of pesticides in the valley...i taught him the benefits of using neem to combat pests. gave him a good recipe ...i hope his garden does better. He was very motivated to go organic..time will tell.... my wife and i ate so well while visiting manali although the trout was expensive..it was awesome i liked rivermusic in o.m. for my fish....johnson's cafe down the hill from sunshine was my wifes favorite i think she liked the creme caramel desert a bit too much. the savings staying in the guest house provided our budget the relief to overindulge eating.... the food is so good in manali..i was not fond of the eateries in the mg and bhagsu...funny i found fruit and veggies in manali much better... curd and fruit my morning staple was only good at OM resto in mg and traveled daily into town just for breakfast.... and the pool in the temple bhagsu was a pleasant suprise so clean and refreshing...no chlorine...
it was the population of westerners in mg that turned me off and all that free tibet stuff is getting old and overplayed..tibet does not want to be free it would destroy mg and all the capitalization that has been developed....i am going to china this fall head up into the mountains around chendu...and on into lhasa but maybe mongolia may have more to offer see how my kharma plays out... |

nice blog lonelyaztec
rishabh6296 its not really that i like Manali...i really like my friends there the ones i have met 20 yrs ago are still there..it makes them so happy to see me almost on a yearly basis. tourists come and go seldom returning..as many in the site can confirm, its not the location its the people..the folks in himachal are tops....pure in heart. I am more comfortable in the north coming from a cold climate..down south its just too hot for me..20 yrs ago i enjoyed goan beaches..Cochin...Mysore..peri yar..backwater...but i hate mosquitos i have an allergic reaction to the bites it drives me crazy...and i hate DEET even more....so its north that i like...i would very much like to spend an entire winter in the north one day.... |

back streets of old delhi
i love walking the back streets of any city especially the industrial areas...screw the usual tourists sites nothing there for me...you know m8/m8s after visting India all these years i have yet to visit the taj..
and now thinking back about all my past experiences i realize i have just scratched the surface..i have seen so little i must take off my blinders and go forth...where would you all suggest i go next? Time to make new friends! Maybe i will put china on the back burner for a while wait till the olympic madness dies down...say 2009...so another visit may be in the works for 2007..i hope i have room for one last visa... |
