Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj

Not too many buses from Chandigarh to Dharamshala. We got in around two noon, missed that one by a few minutes and the next one was by 6.30 in the evening and a delux at night that would come from Delhi and guarantee that there would be a vacaent seat on that one. The partial picture from my trip last week.

@Mridula - How did u travel thn..?? and do you think traveling in an ordinary bus is not a problem on this route..?

Punk Soul, we took a bus to Jwalaji which was available within 40 minutes (and we needed that for lunch) reached there by 8pm. We could have taken a bus to Dharamshala from there but we decided to stay for the night at Jwalaji. From there we traveled straight to Mcleod Ganj.

We never find traveling in ordinary buses any problem, if you are willing to live with the less leg space.

Can someone please answer my queries:

1. What is the frequency of buses from Chandigarh Sec 43/17 bus stand to Kangra...?? are there Delux buses avlbl early morning for Kangra..??
2. How much time does it take for Chandigarh - Kangra & Kangra - Dharamshala by bus.

These will enable me to draw a Final plan for the trip.

Yes i did but nothing seems to be serving my purpose thr... Thr r no Semi-Delux or Delux buses for either Kangra or Dharamshala somewhere in the morning hrs. traveling in an ordinary bus is going to be tough as we have 3 tall members in our group so leg space is gonna be an issue...

But yes the HRTC site clears my doubts about traveling time between Chandigargh - Kangra/dharamshala..

well if the long bus journey bothers u a lot.
you can take the janshtabadi from Chandigarh to Una and take a bus from there.
or u can get down to ambala and take a train to pathankot and then take the bus. this will take much longer.

There may be other options available but you would have to go and ask around in Chandigarh.

Punk Sould if you are considering a train journey then go from Delhi to Pathankot/Chakkibank and there are numerous buses from there to Dharamshala/McLeod Ganj.

PS. Sorry I forgot you were traveling from Chandigarh and not Delhi.

Hi I heard there is plenty of buses from chandigarh....i'll have to find out from which bus station though.There is one at 4 am,6 am and 9 am.
