Dharamsala
Dharamsala
Hey guys! I'm new to this site, and I have to say it is exactly what I have been looking for!
I'm going to India in Feb, and I am trying to make my plans.... So far they look as below.
Any comments?
Specificaly, I am wondering about this Dharamsala tour. Has anyone been to Dharamsala? Would you recommend it? Tibet interets me, and I figure this is about as close as I'll be able to get anytime soon.
Anyway, I'm curious to hear what you think! Thanks guys.

Going to Dharamshala in Feb. is not a bad idea. Be prepared for some cold weather. Min. 02 degrees centigrade and max. 18 to 20. If Tibetan / Buddhist culture interests you thats the right place.

Yup it will be cold up there. Bring a hat and gloves to.
Is the tour necessary? Probably not. However looking at the itinerary it's not bad. Some of the places on the list are worth a visit and to do it on your own would be balls. Going to Norbulingka Institute itself would be half a day and you would have to figure out the local buses and do some walking.
Potala tours is very reliable and a good agency to go through. I have used them many times.
I would go for it, you will probably see more than most people in those few days.

Very good background material
They sent me prices. Also it is a "tour", but they assured me I would be the only tour member. Heh.
Thanks for the book tip vistet!

These guys seem very nice :-) I think I will take their tour for sure. I will opt to go by bus rather than Train, I'll have plenty of train time later :-)Thanks for the book tip vistet!
