delhi to shimla train booking-- how?
hi,
from delhi to shimla by train route,what factor i will do? do i need advance booking from delhi to shimla? or i will need 2 times booking from delhi and kalka? any direct train from delhi to shimla? i dont know any thing,pls help how to book the tickets.. is there any rush in booking? thanks suresh babu |

There are no direct trains.
Get a train from Delhi to Kalka then one of the trains from Kalka to Shimla. |

Situated at over 2000 meters there are no direct trains to Shimla, instead you will have to swop the broad gauge trains of the plains for the engineering marvel of a Mountain Railway, climbing it's way up from 676 meters at kalka to Shimla in the clouds!
As others have pointed out you will need a reservation upto Kalka, from here you can just hop on the "toy Train" to Shimla, I'm waiting for comfirmation but as far as know you can't reserve the toy train, so it's a first come first served scenario. There are trains running from Delhi that link with the two daily departures!! I'm sure the train gurus will sort you out. |

I agree with people above. U need to catch a train from kalka to shimla.I have travelled on that train once..it was awsome xperience
