confused on budget for himachal trip

Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip to himachal during OCT 1st week.
My places of interest are ROTANG PASS & BANJAR VALLEY.
Ofcourse i will venture around the other places.
I will be on my own during this trip but the only unfortunate thing is a slight budget problem.

I have got in touch with a few hotels and all but they charge a lot in dollars.
My big question is....Can INR2000 be sufficient for accomadation and bus/taxi travels & food (per day).
My question might sound stupid but i have never been to the north so im kinda clueless.

I will be going there for 7-8 days.

Any help, suggestions and hotel names or contacts will be welcome.

Thanks.

I think you can manage on this amount if you stay in budget places - the most expense will be by taxi. The places you are checking out via websites maybe in higher room rates category because when you are here budget hotels are charging only in Indian rupees generally. A single, good room should be available for around 400 rupees per night and many times much less than this. I would have an emergency cache of extra money if you run into problems, but I think you should be able to manage on the amount you are quoting.

Exclamation Expenses

Expenses per day

Food

Rs 50 Breakfast plus tea
Rs 75 Lunch
Rs 30 Tea and biscuits
Rs 90 dinner

Double above figures if you go to fancy joints

Have not considerd beer etc.

Stay

Rs 150 to Rs 800 [can go to 8000 if you stay in verrry fancy places]

Transport

Rs 2000 per day by hired taxi
Rs 250 per day by public bus transport

Go ahead and enjoy your trip

No need to worry about expenses!!!

Rs 2000 per day is eminently do-able !!
