Question Clothing, Trecking, Destinations.

I have a 3 part question (feel free to answer what ever you prefer or all the above):

My partner and I will be backpacking in the mountians in early March. We will visit, Dharamsala, Kullu, Manali, Hardwar/Rishikesh. We plan to visit these places over 11 days.

(1) We plan to buy all our warm clothing there. I am 6'3" (skinny and lanky). Will I be able to buy warm sweaters, pants, hats, etc. that will fit me and keep me warm when I get to my first destination in the Mountians?

(2) We are looking to do a 2-3 day Treck. Is it possible to go on any short trecks during this time. From the research I have done I found that it will be cold and more than likely snowy? If trecks are possible at this time can any one recommend a budget teck that they liked (in our treck we would like to visit village towns, buddhist monistaries, mountian views, any of the above).

(3) of the places we are visiting does anyone have any other strong recommendations for that area during that time. And can anyone recommend an ayurvedic treatment center up in the Himachal Pradesh?

Thanks for the help!!

Trekking in March

Yes-not much cold but could encounter problem with snow-as usualy at this time it is soft due to warming climate-so you have to be sure about trek and trail.

For 2/3 days best option is trek in Himachal Pradesh like Triund Ridge from Macleod Ganj-this will also provide you some insight in Tibetan life !

Location of Macleod Ganj

You can travel to Macleod Ganj from two directions.

Train Travel: Delhi to Jalandhar : Get direct bus for Dharamshala

Train Travel to Delhi to Pathankot ( All trains bounded for Jammu stops there) and you get direct bus for Dharamshala.

You can also get direct bus from ISBT ( Inter State Bus Terminus) from Delhi to Dharamshala.

From Dharamshala you can have shated taxi jeep or can hire full private jeep for Macleod Ganj.

Latest Inclusion: Do not forget to visit lesser known church with old decor and bell.
