and, how much time does it generally take for the trek?

Also, what is the minimum number of days Delhi to Delhi, for Chandratal? Is 3 days with lots of driving, possible?

smakkar,
that's really ambitious . . .
delhi manali is 15hrs
manali to gramphoo is say 6hrs
another 3 or 4 to batal
and then a couple to chandratal
so that's 27 hours . . .
twice is 54 that gives you 18 hours stoppage time intoto
you would require two drivers and some sleep deprevation but i guess it's possible!
vimal,
i presume a tempo traveller should make it from batal to chandratal without a problem, but i haven't been on the road.
any taxis should be hired from kaza, sharing is a bit tricky, but if you hang around in the upper bazaar, the internet guy has a few cabs and he's willing to bypass the mandatory taxi union rules . . :-)

I imagined that... but just wanted to check..!!

So if one more day is added, then things can look good (or, at least better)

I am sure you are going to visit Chandratal for the beauty of that place & en-route. If u r going just for a drive, the story is different.
There are 2 different ways to go to Chandratal. One is
Delhi - Shimla - Recong peo - Kaza etc. This is totally a different circuit. With the time available at your command, best is take the Manali route.
Day 1 Delhi - Manali abt 13 hrs, start early to avoid Delhi traffic, say between 5.30 - 6 am (night halt Manali)
Day 2 Manali - Batal 4 hrs (Start early around 6 am, distance abt 115 kms) +
Batal - Chandratal 1 hr Dist abt 15+ kms (rough road). Here i would like to point out that tempo traveller can go but the time you take from Delhi will go up by 15% approx. Hence take (if in your budget, Innova). Spend couple of hours at Chandratal & enjoy the nature. By evening or a little late night reach Manali & have a night halt.
Day 3 Wakeup early & go back to Delhi.
If u hv a day extra u will not feel tired, though u may hv 2 drivers.
The Dhaba at Batal has some Dormitory tented accommodation ( If u can spend a day extra, in that case can spend the night there, so that u can enjoy Chandratal for a longer time)
