Hi! In Mud alone,in season, there are 7 guest houses, few of them nice,no bath attached as yet in any of these places. They do have WLL phones there now,so it is actually possible to warn them about your arrival, sometimes. In Dankhar there are several homestaying which are much better than the gompa guest house.

Qs04. Pls. give me an idea of time taken for each days if I travelled by Travera.
Qs05. I am very much concern about my Day 12 trip plan, pls. I am waiting for your valuable suggestion.
Qs06. Which is the better option from Manali to go Chandigarh or Kalka to catch the train?
Qs07. Is there any contact no. of reliable driver for the trip? what are the current rate per day?
Qs08. Your recommended hotels for all tour (with economic clean attached bathroom),is there any need to book hotels in advance up to kinnar in June?

I know it is very lengthy but I want to explain it elaborately so you can understand easily .

Possible is an ambiguous word . . . if you have equipment and experience, anything is . . . but you're looking at 10-20 feet of snow with temperatures way below freezing . . . you would have to walk from manali . . say 10-12 days return!

First of all, sorry for the late reply and thaks for your kind suggestion.Actually I made my plan after reading Mr. Nayan's and Mr. Wayfewers's articles. I just ask for some specific questions which can only be answered by experienced person who already travell the region. So I am again waiting for answers of those questions. Can anyone give some advice on those confusions? Still I am waiting.

Thanks again.

Day 03: Reach Shimla by Shivalik Exp.
Day 04: Shimla sightseeing.
Day 05; Shimla to Sarahan ; n/s Sarahan.
Day 06: Sarahan to Sangla; n/s Sangla.
Day 07: Sangla to Chitkul & back to Sangla; n/s Sangla.
Day 08: Sangla to Kalpa; n/s Kalpa.
Day 09: Kalpa to Tabo via Nako & Gheu village; n/s Tabo.
Day 10: Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar, then Ki and Kibber visit. n/s Kaza.

Day 13; Manali rest .
Day 14: Manali Sightseeing.
Day 15: Manali to Chandigarh or Kalka(?) to catch Kalka mail .

My questions are as follows,
Qs01. First of all is the planning practically OK with my child (she is well habituated in travelling) and mother (Healthy)?
should be no problem
Qs02. In what week of June normally the Kunzum Pass open ?
Kunzum has a mid of its own, it was closed till the 15th of june this year
Qs03. Is there any accommodation in Gramphu for family?
there is a pwd rest house at koksar, but that tends to be full, gramphu has very basic dorms
Qs04. Pls. give me an idea of time taken for each days if I travelled by Travera.
you average day seems to be about 4-5 hours, but kalpa to tabo is a mammoth day and could be broken down
Qs05. I am very much concern about my Day 12 trip plan, pls. I am waiting for your valuable suggestion.
Its feasible with an early start to reach Manali from Kaza via chandratal, but it will be quite a drive, though i don't see any night stay options for the granny, so i guess its besat to do it in one shot.
Qs06. Which is the better option from Manali to go Chandigarh or Kalka to catch the train?
Chandigarh perhaps . . . not sure
Qs07. Is there any contact no. of reliable driver for the trip? what are the current rate per day?
no idea
Qs08. Your recommended hotels for all tour (with economic clean attached bathroom),is there any need to book hotels in advance up to kinnar in June?
I never book, but I see you might need to . . . though this tends to put you at the mercy of the hotelier as you can't see where the hotel is and what its like till you get there . . .

All in all its a tight plan, maybe you would do better cutting short in the lower ranges of shimla and kinnaur to get an extra day or so in spiti . . . maybe avoid sangla all together break at puh en route tabo, saving yourself the agony of a whole day in the car!

Hi! Kaza to Recong Peo with some brief stops can be easily covered in 6 hours or just a fraction more in a Maruti 800( I did just that with a friend a couple of years back). So Kalpa to Tabo in a better car can take about the same time even if you throw in a visit to Nako,a bit more if you want to see the mummy in Gyù.Lots of people visit Chandratal enroute Manali and reach destination the same day,in a car with a decent driver it's not a problem and better than stopping anywhere on the way.

On Day 6 Go to Chitkul and stay there instead of staying at Sangla. On day 7 start in afternoon for KAlpa. That will save you a day.
