Cabs for Hire in SHimla

Hi

Please suggest if hiring a cab in Simla is a better idea than taking the trips organised by HPTDC. I have heard that the trips organised can be tiring. Six of us from the family would be travelling to Shimla in July.

I did a HPTDC day tour to Kufri, Chail etc and it was not tiring at all. It was well organised and the HPTDC staff were very good and even agreed to drop me and my mate off at Khandaghat so we could get a bus to Dharampur (so we could make our way to Kasauli).

I am coming to shimla with my sister and mother during July third week. How safe is it to hire a cab from shimla to manali (night journey)? Any information about night buses from shimla to manali?

I would not recommend night driving in the hills in any form of transport to anybody unless there is an emergency.

Except very few routes, eg Dehradun and around.

Shimla/Manali is not one of these.

Besides, if it is a holiday, you miss half the fun of the drive anyway.

Hi..I am going to Manali, I have booked toy train ticket which will reach to Shimala around 11 am..please tell me the way to reach Manali from Shimala..i dont want to stay at Shimala..My hotel is booked at Manali..It is better if I will reach Manali with enjoyment of sightseaing..please help to plan...i have checked bus schedule but it is only in the morning 8:30..i m stuck here
